Nick Calathes had 18 points and seven rebounds, leading No. 18 Florida to a 64-50 victory over Southern Utah on Thursday night despite one of the worst 3-point shooting performances in team history.
Calathes was the only Florida player to score in double figures. The Gators (3-0) went 1-for-16 on 3s and barely extended their school-record streak of consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer to 546.
Dan Werner made the only 3 for Florida, and it came with 22.1 seconds to play from the top of the key.

Osama bin Laden released a new message on Sunday that accused
Arab leaders of sacrificing the Palestinians and called on Muslim
militants in Egypt to help break the blockade of Gaza.
"Those (Arab) kings and leaders sacrificed Palestine and Al-Aqsa to
keep their crowns. ... But we will not be relieved of this responsibility,"
bin Laden said in the audio message posted on an Islamic militant Web site
where al-Qaida leaders have issued past statements.
